Explanation For The śloka(s):
In these verses, sañjaya describes the scene on the battlefield to king dhṛtarāṣṭra, narrating details about all those who were present for the war. With the adharmic actions of the kauravas and great injustice meted out to the pāṇḍavās leading to this war, it seemed as if the entire earth had split into two sides, preparing for the battle which would eventually become the cause of irreversible destruction.

Meaning of The śloka(s):
“O ruler of the Earth, king yudhiṣṭhira, eldest of the pāṇḍavas, blew his conch shell named anantavijaya; while his younger brothers, nakula and sahadeva blew their conches – the sughoṣa and maṇipuṣpaka.
The excellent archer and king of kāśi, the great warrior śikhaṇḍī, dhṛṣṭadyumna, virāṭa, the invincible sātyaki, drupada, the five sons of draupadī and the mighty armed abhimanyu, son of subhadrā, all blew their respective conch shells.”
